ConocoPhillips/Jet

ConocoPhillips markets quality fuel directly to its range of distributors throughout the country and under the Jet brand through its network of around 400 independently operated sites, across the UK.  With its mix of competitive pricing, excellent customer service and a commitment to fuelling the local community, they are one of the UK’s most trusted fuel suppliers.

With a 120 strong workforce at its Warwick-based offices, ConocoPhillips actively encourages staff to do their utmost to play a positive role in the community, be it fundraising, sponsorship or supporting local schools. This ethos is echoed by the network of Jet forecourts, many of which are involved in a number of community initiatives.

As a three time winner of the Warwickshire Employer of Choice awards in the large company category, ConocoPhillips is renowned for its excellent working environment. Initiatives such as the working parents’ policy, further education plan, flexible benefits plan and health promotion programme are all highly popular within the workforce.

Tony Conway, marketing manager, comments: “As a business that very much operates at the heart of the community, we are thrilled to be in a position to support the Carols at Warwick Castle event. This year’s event promises to be an enjoyable evening for all and is a great way for local residents to get into the Christmas spirit”.

Waitrose

Waitrose Kenilworth is proud to be sponsoring this year's Carols at Warwick Castle event.  Waitrose has a long history of supporting the communities in which it operates, and the business as a whole is committed to donating at least 1% of its pre-tax profits to charity.

Last year a new programme called 'Community Matters' was introduced, which provides each Waitrose branch with a budget of £1,000 per month to split between three local charities or organisations - meaning that since Waitrose Kenilworth opened in July 2008, 36 local good causes have received a total of £12,000 to support their work.

Our community involvement is also felt in other ways through sponsorship of a number of local events, sports teams and community projects.

National Grid

National Grid is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world. We play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner. We are committed to safeguarding our global environment for future generations and providing all our customers with the highest standards of service through investment in our networks and through our talented, diverse workforce.

National Grid is a committed, responsible, energetic and active corporate ‘neighbour’. We support our local communities practical ways in preference to making financial donations. We focus on activities which are linked to the nature of our business, especially skills development, safety and the environment.

National Grid employs around 2,000 at its head office in Warwick and through the company community volunteering programme employees have the opportunity to share their business skills and make a difference through literacy, numeracy, enterprise and engineering support schemes with local schools. Employees are also encouraged to volunteer their business or sporting skills by supporting people with learning disabilities through charity partner Special Olympics Great Britain. In addition the company carries out the majority of its employee team building in the community. By working with a small number of local organisations to seek out safe, effective and practical community-based team building opportunities we benefit the community at the same time as developing our staff.

External Communications Manager Julian Buttery said: “We’re delighted to support the local community through the Carols at the Castle event. In practical terms we’ve taken on the poster, ticket and carol sheet printing and will be encouraging our employees to come along on the night. We’re sure the event will be a great success and the funds raised will really benefit local charities”
